About The Curator
Shaleen Wadhwana, academically trained in History (LSR, Delhi), Art History (SOAS, London) and Liberal Arts (YIF, Ashoka), lies at the intersection of art, history, heritage and culture. She has professional expertise across museums and galleries ranging from the British Museum, London to Chemould Prescott Road Gallery, Mumbai. Since Sept 2018, she independently writes, curates and teaches about Indian Art, Heritage, History and Culture, to bring diverse audiences closer to it with her cross-sector experience. Be it the Young Collectors at India Art Fair, members of the Maharashtra Tribal Development Board at the National Museum, or walking through Red Fort with children of Slam Out Loud, an Arts-Education based NGO, each experience makes her create more spaces for such interactions. Notably, she was invited by Space Studio Baroda, an artists’ residency, to host a two day session with over 43 artists from three cities on how emerging artists can navigate the Indian Art World, and reviewing their portfolios with critical feedback. Recently, she has collaborated with the Okhla Arts Map, Delhi to curate and execute its first-ever Okhla Arts Walk, and is a visiting faculty at MITID Pune, where she teaches Big History and Design Futures.
